Fall 2012 Ready to Wear, a la Turca

Açılın Türkler geliyor diye sansasyonel bir başlık atmak isterdim ama Londra ve Paris moda haftalarında bir şekilde Türk kökenli tasarımcıların sonbahar-kış hazır giyim koleksiyonlarından o kadar da büyük bir haz almadım. Özellikle Erdem'den umutluydum ama nispeten sönük kaldı. Yılların deneyimi ile Chalayan en beğendiğim oldu.  

I would have liked to use a provocative title for the post along the lines of "Turks are coming!" but the collections seemed more on the conservative side. I did not especially enjoy the "Turkish" designers' Fall-Winter ready-to-wear collections in London and Paris. I was expecting a lot from Erdem but Chalayan proved to be my favorite amongst them with years of experience.

Chalayan

Podyumda ahşap mobilyalar ve alt tarafı çırılçıplak peçeli kadınlar yürüten bir tasarımcıdan blok renkler ve organik cut-out kesimleri ile son derece giyilebilir bir koleksiyon. 

A surprisingly wearable collection from the man who made wooden furniture and bottomless naked women with black veils walk down the runway. Bold block colors and organic cut-outs and folds are the bearing points of the collection.

Erdem

Erdem Moralıoğlu yine bolca çiçek deseni ve dantel ile karşımızda. Ekoseler de var ama almamışım. Renk paleti kışa uygun, modeller anlamsızca suratsız. Erdem'cim en azından Resort kolleksiyonunda tropik çiçeklere falan geç, bişeyler yap, lütfen. Her birine ayrı birşey yazmakta zorlanıcam.

Erdem Moralioglu keeps wrapping us up in flowers and lace, yet again. For some reason I totally disregarded his plaids. I want him to surprise me. The color palette is dimmed for the cooler days and the models are in a wintery enough bad mood. My dear Erdem, please surprise me in your Resort collection with tropical flowers or something.

Dolce Gabbana'yı hatırlatmıyor mu?

Hakaan

Hakaan Yıldırım'ın podyumu da yine her zamanki gibi fazla tanıdık. Biraz futuristik, biraz Wang. En azından giyilebilir.
An all too familiar runway from Hakan Yıldırım. A bit of future, a tad of Wang. At least this time it's wearable.

Russian Doll - Ulyana Sergeenko Fall Couture 2012

Fotoğrafçı, moda editörü, stilist, sokak modası fotoğrafçılarının gözbebeği VE tasarımcı. Modayı seven bir kadın başka ne olmak ister ki? Karşınızda Ulyana Sergeenko. İlk koleksiyonunu Sonbahar/Kış 2011-2012 sezonunda çıkarttı. Şimdi ise 3. koleksiyonu ile Paris Couture haftasında karşımızda. Sunduğu bu ilk couture koleksiyonu modanın neredeyse tüm ağır toplarının katılımı ile gerçekleşti. Ben de style.com üzerinden ağzım açık izledim. Her koleksiyonundaki her parça onun retro, vintage, feminen stili ile birebir uyumlu. Her bir kıyafeti için bir hikaye canlanıyor zihninizde. İşte benim modayı bu kadar çok sevmemin de nedeni bu. Rus Bebekleri, Lolita, Doktor Jivago, Anna Kareninna, Bolşevikler, Tolstoy'un Kazaklar'ı, Romanov'lar. O kadar çok şey hatırlattı ki bu koleksiyon bana. Bakalım size neleri hatırlatacak?     

Photographer, fashion editor, stilist, street style icon AND designer. What else does a fashion loving woman want to be? There is not much else to achieve if you are Ulyana Sergeenko. She showcased her first collection in Fall-Winter 2011-2012 and just last week, she presented at the Couture Week in Paris. Her show was attended by all the big guns in the industry, making her a smash-hit. I totally loved each piece in her collection on style.com. Each piece in her collections is wearable and in Ulyana's distinct style, retro, vintage, feminine and stirs up an image in my mind, which is why I love fashion so much. Her pieces all contain a reference to me, Russian dolls, Lolita, Doctor Zhivago, Anna Kareninna, the Bolsheviks, Tolstoy's "the Cossacks", the Romanov family, and so on. Let's see what images spark off in your mind.

Elie Saab

İşçiliği ve romantik tarzı her zaman taze ve zamansız. Alttaki parçalar ise hem içimdeki prenses olmak isteyen küçük kızı, hem de temiz çizgileri seven modern kadıncığı fazlasıyla mutlu ediyor.

Always fresh and timeless clean romanticism in couture collections. The pieces below satisfy the females in me; thegirlie who wants to be a fairy princess and the modern woman who loves clean lines and subtle suggestions.

Armani Prive

Armani prive meraklısı hiç olmadım ama bu elbise ile Met'te Phantom of the Opera'ya gitmeyi hayal ettim. Peçemsi şeyi ise Arap'lara ve onların bol petrodolarlarına bırakıyorum.

I never had much of a thing for Armani Prive, but I can imagine myself going to the Met with this, minus the veil. Save that for petrodollars of the opulent Arabs. The collection has so many of them.

Chanel
Chanel defilesinden sadece 2 (yazıyla iki) parçayı beğendiğim için moda tanrıları beni taş yapacakmış gibi hissediyorum ama Karl'ın yeti koleksiyonunu hatırladıkça kendimden şühe etmemeye başlıyorum. Seçimlerimden ilki klasik Chanel ruhuna uygun (tabii ki çorapları hemencecik yok edeceksiniz). İkinci elbiseyi de verseler giyerim yani, çirkin değil, hem de mankenden daha mutlu görünürdüm eminim.
Liking just two pieces from the Chanel couture show makes me feel like and idiot. But then again, I remember the Chanel Yeti's from not so long ago and I feel reassured of myself. The first look is a classic Chanel two piece, minus the hideous socks. The second gown, I would wear if I had it, it's certainly not ugly, though I'd probably look happier than this model.

Givenchy

Bu koleksiyon ile kelimenin tam anlamıyla masal alemine gittim, ama bu Sindirella gibi bir alem değil. Daha çok Yüzüklerin Efendisi, Narnia ve Labyrinth karışımı bir dünya ve hiç bir şey şeker pembesi değil. Kadınlar kurtarılmayı bekleyen güzeller değil, hikayenin güçlü ve korkusuz kahramanları. Özellikle üçüncü görünümde Orta Çağ'larda vatanından ayrılarak Kuzey Avrupa'ya sefere çıkmış bir Afrika kraliçesini hayal ediyorum. Tarih nasıl değişirdi, değil mi?
This collection has just transferred me into a fairy tale world, but not one in which Cindirella resides. It's more of a combination of Lord of the Rings, Narnia and Labyrinth, dark and moody, absolutely nothing is in candy colors. The women in this world are hardly Damsels in Distress, but rather the strong, independent, brave heroes. Especially in the third look, I imagine an African Queen who has gone on a "crusade" to Norther Europe. How that would have changed the course of our history...

Christian Dior
Büyük bir süpriz ile Jil Sander'dan ayrılan Raf Simons'ın Christian Dior'daki ilk defilesinden tahminimden çok parçayı beğendim. Galliano'nun Hitler ile ilgili gafından sonra Dior'dan ayrılması ile teatral defilelerden uzaklaşan Christian Dior couture koleksiyonu son derece giyilebilir ve modern olmuş. Oysa ki Raf Simons'ın çıkış noktası 1947'lerdeki New Look silüeti. Aşağıdaki her kıyafeti 5 dakika düşünmeden giyebilirim. Sadece 5. sıradaki ceket ve kemerin altına kalem etek tercih ederdim.
I liked quite a few pieces from Raf Simons' first couture show at Chirstian Dior after leaving Jil Sander. The collection is made up of entirely wearable clothes after Galliano's mandatory leave from Christian Dior following his remarks on Hitler. Simons' modern and practical Christian Dior is far from Galliano's theatricality and yet takes roots from Dior's New Look silhoutte in 1947. I would wear all of the following outfits in a blink, maybe with the switch of a pencil skirt instead of a full skirt in the 5th look.

Jean Paul Gaultier

Koleksiyondan en çok beğendiğim parçaya 7 Temmuz'dan aşinalığım var. Konsere gelenler hemen tanıyacaklar.

Versace

Couture haftasında Karlie Kloss'un tüm giydiklerini beğenmem ne anlama geliyor acaba? Marifet hangisinde? Beyaz elbise ise tarif edilemez bir biçimde gönlümü çaldı.
I liked every piece Karlie Kloss wore during the couture week. Is it the dress or the model?  And the white number just stole my heart.

Alexis Mabille

Alexis Mabille ismini ilk duyuşum. Koleksiyonundan beğenecek bir parça bulabilmek için çok uğraştım. Belinde ve kafasındaki şeylere hiç anlam veremesem de Gwenyth Paltrow'un Oscar törenlerine giydiği Tom Ford elbiseyi hatırlattı bana, sanırım ondan sevdim.

Last AND least, there was a person who went by the name of Alexis Mabille, who I think joked us all. This is the only piece that I would put on, it's sort of reminescent of Gwenyth's Tom Ford look at the Oscars, minus that meaningless thing on her waist and top of her head.
