Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2013

I have shared my adoration for Alexandre Vauthier's creations here before. He has once again hit my soft spot with his couture collection for Fall 2013. To me, most of his designs are timeless pieces that you can hang in a museum. While his dresses are ultra provocative and sexy, his sleek pants and pantsuits are just as so. I love the confidence that comes from the well-placed "slashes" in the most strategic places. Although there were some blue gowns with way too much embellishment on them, reimnding me of Balmain knock-offs, the clean lines of the rest of his collection make me overlook those few pieces. My favorite looks are below. I especially love the pantsuit in the second photo and the dresses in the fifth (my absolute favorite as it looks amazingly fresh) and the very last dresses.

When it comes to Couture, Valentino is the epitome of craftsmanship with luxurious materials and meticulous processes. His latest Couture collection was no exception. While I was looking at the details, the miniadiueres (the mini evening clutches) were the pieces that striked me the most, so before the collection itself, I give you these beautiful mother of pearl clutches with gold Zodiac details. It's a shame I could not spot the Scorpio one. Did you see your sign?

Alexandre Vauthier Spring Summer 2013

While NYFW is already underway, I'm still catching up with the Paris couture shows. Alexander Vauthier's collection is quite noteworthy with an abundance of pants, all-black palette with sleek gold accents for the neck, wait and ankles. There are sharp edges and slits everywhere as well as tuxedo details and daring placement of see-through materials. Another collection which I cannot wait to see on the red carpet.. Would look good on Gwenyth Paltrow and Cate Blanchett.

En çok öne çıkanlar pantolonların hakimiyeti, siyahın mutlak egemenliği, boyun, bel ve ayak bileklerindeki altın tasmalar, keskin hatlar, smokin detayları, cesur yırtmaç ve pencereler ile daha da cesur transparanlar. Kesinlikle kırmızı halıda görmek için sabırsızlandığım bir koleksiyon daha. 

Iris Van Herpen Couture Spring Summer 2013

Iris Van Herpen put on a killer show during Paris Couture Week. Instead of supermodels, she used aliens on the runway. I will willingly submit to total word domination. 

Iris Van Herpen'in Couture defilesi öldürücü güzellikteydi. Podyuma mankenler yerine uzaylılar çıktı. Dünyayı ele geçirmelerini istiyorum.

Birds of a Feather -Serkan Cura, Spring Summer Couture 2013

Serkan Cura's runway was truly spectacular in Paris Couture Week. Aptly named "Birds of Eden", it was filled with feathers and embellishments that resembled wild imaginary creatures of a fantastic Avatar-like world. There is also the obvious Black Swan resemblance. I can easily imagine these dresses on Lady Gaga, Rooney Mara, Diane Kruger and even Cate Blanchett. The jackets can easily be tamed down with the simple addition of a skirt or pants. Some looks have their own matching minaudieres. I love all of these creations so much that I cannot pick any favorites but overall, the white mini dresses are gorgeous as well as the second look from the end. I'm wondering wheter the Turkish born designer will have any bold Turkish followers (not counting the jackets). 

Paris Couture Haftası'nda Serkan Cura'nın  podyumu gerçekten gözalıcı. Defile fotoğraflarından anlaşıldığı kadarı ile az parça olmasına rağmen hepsi birer şaheser olduğu için yeterince doyurucu. "Cennet Kuşları" temalı koleksiyon adının kesinlikle hakkını verdi. Her biri Avatar gibi fantastik bir dünyadan muhteşem yaratıkları andıran kıyafetler bolca tüy ve benzeri süslemelerle bezeliydi. Tabii Siyah Kuğu benzerlikleri de göz ardı edilemez. Bu kıyafetleri Lady Gaga, Rooney Mara, Diane Kruger ve hatta Cate Blanchett'in üzerinde kırmızı halıda gözümün önüne getirebiliyorum. Kırmızı halı dediğin böyle parçalarla dolu olmalı. Ceketlerse birer etek veya pantolon eklerseniz son derece kullanılabilir parçalar. Bazı kıyafetlerin kendi mini mücevher çantaları bulunuyor. Hepsini çok sevdiğim için favori belirleyemeyeceğim ama beyaz mini elbiseler ile sondan ikinci görünüme bayıldım. Peki Serkan Cura'nın cesur tasarımlarını (ceketleri saymıyorum) giyebilecek bir Türk çıkacak mı? 

Stéphane Rolland, Spring Couture 2013

I have to admit, I was a complete and utter fool when I said the other day that the coutıre week is a bit disappointing this season, but that was before I saw the Stéphane Rolland, Alexander Vauthier, Serkan Cura and Iris van Herpen shows. They were all entirely phenomenal.  I'll just start with my favorites from Stephane Rolland who does sculptural gowns like it's nothing.  I've been his fan since I saw this dress. The whole collection is almost completely black and while except for a few shades of gray and yet it's far from bland. Rolland's enormous flower appliques, subtle but phenomenal beading, oversize ruffles, the stark juxtaposition of black & white, emphasis on strong shoulders without being masculine, unexpected use of transparent details are all parts of a winning formula.  I also loved that Carmen dell Orefice, named ""world's oldest supermodel" at 81, was the  show's final face. It'll be a shame if we do not see a few of these on the red carpet, especially on Gwenyth Paltrow.

Geçen gün couture haftasının hayal kırıklığı olduğunu söylediğimde tamamen aceleci davranmışım,  Stéphane Rolland, Alexander Vauthier, Serkan Cura ve Iris van Herpen'in defilelerini görünce ne kadar ahmak olduğumu anladım. Hepsi gerçekten olağanüstü, buradan paylaşmaya çalışacağım. İlk olarak Stéphane Rolland'ın heykelimsi tasarımlarını paylaşmak istiyorum. Bunu her sezon o kadar ustalıkla yapıyor ki hayran olmamak elde değil. Zaten şu elbiseyi gördüğümden beri takipteyim. Tüm koleksiyon neredeyse sadece siyah ve beyaz, sadece arada grinin tonları var ama kesinlikle sıkıcı değil. Rolland'ın devasa çiçek aplikleri, belli belirsiz ama inanılmaz detaylı işlemeleri, devasa farbalaları, siyah ve beyazın keskin birlikteliği, maskülenlikten uzak güçlü omuzları, transparanların beklenmedik kullanımı ile defilenin tamamı bir göz banyosu şeklinde geçti. Dünyanın en yaşlı süpermodeli ünvanına sahip 81 yaşındaki Carmen dell Orefice'in defileyi kapatmasına bayıldım. Sonuç olarak bu modellerin en az 3-5 tanesini ödül törenlerinde görmezsek gerçekten yazık olacak. Özellikle bir kaç tanesini Gwenyth Paltrow'ün üzerinde şimdiden hayal edebiliyorum.
