Chalayan / Mavi Collection Presented at the Seed

The Chalayan/Mavi capsule collection was introduced at the Seed at SSM last night. Chalayan combined Mavi's soft yet structured special denim fabric with elastic ribbons and mesh that accentuate the body's muscles.  You can shop the 21 piece collection here. Thanks to my hubby for the pictures.

Chalayan/Mavi kapsül koleksiyonu dün gece Sakıp Sabancı Müzesi, the Seed'de tanıtıldı. Hüseyin Çağlayan, koleksiyonda Mavi'nin yumuşak dokunuşlu ama vücudu sararak incelten denim kumaşı ile vücudun kaslarını ön plana çıkaran özel kurdeleler ve file detaylarla birleştirmiş.  21 parçadan oluşan koleksiyona buradan ulaşabilirsiniz. Tüm resimler sevgili eşimin.

Chalayan / Mavi

The latest highly anticipated designer-high street collaboration is by Hussein Chalayan and Mavi Jeans. The collection will be presented tonight. Let's remember his truly iconic runway moments where he questions form, function, movement, material and why we dress at all. 

Hussein Chalayan'ın Mavi ile işbirliğinden doğan Chalayan/Mavi koleksiyonu bu akşam lanse ediliyor. Bu vesile ile tasarımcının podyumlarından unutulmaz anıları seçmek istedim. Formu, fonksiyonu, malzemeyi, hareketi ve hatta  giyiniş nedenlerimizi sorgulayan bazı ikonik parçalar.  

Jean Charles de Castelbajac - Foxy Lady

Jean Charles de Castelbajac, more conveniently known as JCDC, is one of the most fun designers out there. In my eyes, he is the original Jeremy Scott, using teddy bears and cartoon characters so unabashedly years ago. His Fall Winter  2013 collection was one of my favorite ones this year. The collection was named Foxy Lady, with especally the second part of the show marked by larger than life fox heads and the abundance of fiery reds. I loved the monochrome first part too, all outfits exuded that punk rock cool we associate with red and black. So many details in JCDC's creations spoke to me, the blanket coats, the barbed wire and Ophelia prints, XXL safety pins. I'm really hoping to get my hands on a blanket-cape (blankape) next winter.  Also check out the lipstick style.  

Jean Charles de Castelbajac, ya da kısaca JCDC, günümüzün en eğlenceli modacılarından biri. Oyuncak ayıları ve çizgi film karakterlerini bundan uzun seneler önce hiç çekinmeden koleksiyonlarında kullandı. Jeremy Scott'tan çok önce bu yollardan geçmişti yani. Sonbahar Kış 2013 koleksiyonu ise favorilerimden oldu. Koleksiyonun adı Foxy Lady, özellikle defilenin ikinci yarısındaki  abartı boyutlardaki tilki figürleri ve yoğun alev kırmızısı ile özellikle örtüşüyor ama ilk yarının siyah-beyaz havası da aynı punk-rock cool'unu barındırıyor. JCDC'nin tüm referanslarına bayıldım, dikenli teller ve Ophelia baskıları, XXL çengelli iğneler, battaniye paltolar. Önümüzdeki kış battaniye formunda bir pelerinle iki kuş birden vurmayı hedefliyorum.  Farklı dudak makyajına ise cesaret edebilir miyim bilmiyorum.

Fall Winter 2013 Trend: Loose Leather Trousers

Come next winter, we'll all be dying to find a pair of loose fitting leather pants / trousers. They are not your last season's leather skinnies. They will be much much cooler but a little bit harder to style. My suggestion is to pair it with pointy heels. Keep your eye open for a flattering pair. Runway looks from Rebecca Minkoff, Herve Leger and Proenza Schouler. Last Days of Winter

Spring is theoretically here, but winter is still lurking from the corners and I'm loving the blanket-like looks and the faux-fur, shearling and colorful leathers. For the last few days of winter, be colorful, be fun and stay warm. 

Bahar teoride gelse de kış halen kendini ara ara hissettiriyor, battaniye görünümleri, faux kürkler, shearling ve renkli deriler monotonluğun baş düşmanları olarak bizimle. Kışın son demlerinde renkli, eğlenceli ve sıcak kalın.

Fall Winter 2013 Trend: Beanies

From the look of the runways and fashion week street style snapshots, it looks like next winter, we'll all be sporting beanies. They will even be style with high heels and fur. Any ideas on how to keep your hair shape and volume? I'm guessing that those unfortunate souls like me with ultra fine hair will have to keep their beanies on all day. On the other hand, you won't have to wash your have every single day, say goodbye to bad hair days :) 

Eğer podyumlar ve moda haftaları sokak stili fotoğraflarını referans olarak alırsak gelecek kış hepimiz "beanie" bereler kullanıyor olacağız. Kürklerle bile kombinlenecekler. Yanlız benim gibi cansız saçlara sahipseniz, bereyi sabah geçirdiğimiz gibi yatana kadar çıkarmayacaksınız demektir bu. Diğer bir yandan da her sabah saçlarınızı yıkamak zorunda değilsiniz artık :)
