Gia Coppola's Personal Style (Who's Who Vol. 004)

Meet Gia Coppola. It isn't difficult to guess that she is the granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola and the apple did not fall from the tree, yet again. Just like Sofia, Gia has chosen a career in film behind the camera. She made her first directorial debut at the 2013 Venice Film Festival with the movie "Palo Alto", written by James Franco. Her red carpet photo with the Saint Laurent suit struck me (second photo below) and so I decided to google her personal style. These are some of the looks I came across.  I love her boyish, simplistic approach to style and her repeated use of basic colors like black, navy, gray, cream and the occasional use of a bold red or leopard.  The black leather skirt and blue men's shirt is also another favorite of mine. Anya Ziourova (Who's Who Vol. 004)

Anya Ziourova is the coolest of the Russian fashion pack, which includes names like Miroslava Duma (the cute one),  Elena Perminova (the amazingly long legs one), Vika Gazinskaya (the quirky designer one), Ulyana Sergeenko (the just-popped-out-of-a-Tolstoy-novel designer). 

Anya has an amazing figure and gorgeous cheekbones/skin/eyes as well as the confidence to go sans-make-up in a life full of super-models. Starting her career at American Vogue, she went on to Japanese Vogue and Chinese Vogue, she is now the Fashion Director of the Russian Tatler and Creative Fashion Consultant of the Russian Allure. She has an amazing eye for mixing and matching colors and prints and a daring sense of style that doesn't shy away from new shapes and new emerging designers. What I love the most about her is the ease in which she rocks a simple gray GAP t-shirt and an off-the-runway Givenchy dress in the same non-chalant air about her. 

Son dönemde sokak modası fotoğrafçılarının ve bloggerların en son gözdeleri Ruslar, Rus Moda Tayfası olarak adlandırılan bu ekibin en cool ismi Anya Ziourova. Miroslava Duma (şirin olan), Elena Perminova (inanılmaz uzun bacaklı olan), Vika Gazinskaya (sıradışı tasarımları ve saç kesimi olan) ve Ulyana Sergeenko (Tolstoy karakterini andıran tasarımcı) ise tayfanın diğer üyeleri. 

Çıkık elmacık kemikleri, muhteşem bir cilt ve gözleri ile Anya süpermodellerle dolu bir gündelik yaşam içerisinde sürekli sıfır makyaj ile gezebilecek kadar özgüven sahibi. Kariyerine Amerikan Vogue'unda başlayıp Vogue Japonya ve Çin'de çalıştı. Şimdi ise Tatler Rusya Moda direktörü ve Allure Rusya Yaratıcı Moda Tasarımcısı (bir gün benim de böyle bir ünvanım olur mu acaba?) Renk ve desenleri karıştırmakta üzerine yok ve farklı kesimlerden korkmuyor. Onu en cool yapan ise gri bir GAP t-shirt ile podyumdan inmiş bir Givenchy elbiseyi aynı rahatlık ve umursamaz tavır ile taşıyabilmesi. 

This Emilio Pucci jacket is absolutely gorgeous. I'm so surprised that I haven't seen it on anybody else so far. Think about how you would style this jacket yourself... I believe most of us would go for all black. Scroll down to see what Anya has paired it with...

This Celine sweater is absolutely to die for! The heels look like Azzadine Alaia.

Notice how the shape of the dress and the shoes complement each other. A bit too matchy matchy for Anya but still a great outfit nevertheless.

She really likes the leopard print and this is one of the classiest ones ever.

Pairing an overtly embellished jacket with Current Elliot zebra jeans and embellished Alaias? Only Anya could pull this off and look this cool.

What an amazing coat. It must be Celine. That Givenchy bag is cute too. However, she usually carries just a cell phone with her. Usually carrying 8 lb bags on any given day, I'm just amazed at women like this.

The Fabulous Four: Courtin-Clarins Clan

After a week spent in paradise on earth, I'm back in the grey and depressing city that I call Mordor sometimes. I know that this is an insult to Istanbul but it really is unbearable here after getting used to the tropical heat, luscious greenery, and laid back ease of locals. So I decided to cover the Courtin-Clarins sister-cousins quartet here. All four of them together have an incredibly colorful and fun wardrobe. 

Claire has the mile long legs and haute-hippie style, often wearing floor skimming skirts and flats thanks to her height. Jenna wears mostly figure hugging body-con dresses most of which are amazing but yet she looks too much like an American girl next door. (They are all French, of course.) Virginie has a versatile style, she likes to experiment and never chooses dull pieces. Prisca usually chooses modernized versions of classic pieces that go well with her brunette physique. 

As heiresses to the Clarins empire, they do flaunt what they have but in such a non-assuming way that they look comfortable in these frocks as I would feel in jeans and chucks. My favorite look is from the MET Gala in 2012, they are wearing Thierry Mugler, owned by the Clarins family as well. Those dresses are incredible, remind me so much from Star Trek Next Generation and Fifth Element in a good way.

Claire upuzun bacakları ve lüks-hippi tarzıyla genellikle yerleri süpüren etekleri ve düz ayakabıları tercih ediyor. Jenna genelde vücudu saran iddialı elbiseleri seviyor ama bazen Fransız olmasına rağmen prom'a giden sıradan bir Amerikalı kıza benziyor, sanırım sorun saç ve makyajda. Virginie'nin değişken bir tarzı var, tüm giydikleri enterasan parçalar. İçlerindeki tek kumral olan Prisca ise klasik parçaların modernize edilmiş versiyonlarını tercih ediyor. 

Clarins imparatorluğunun varisleri olarak haute-couture ve designer parçaları çoğumuzun jean ve Converse'lerle hissettiği kadar doğal taşıyorlar ki, ortaya hep inanılmaz kareler çıkıyor. Favori resimlerimden birisi MET Gala'sında yine Clarins ailesinin sahip olduğu Mugler koleksiyonundan giydikleri. Elbiseler fiziklerine inanılmaz yakışmakla kalmamış, Star Trek ve Beşinci Element'in süper bir füzyonunu da andırıyorlar.

Solange Knowles (Who's Who Vol. 002)

Kendisi de müzisyen olan Solange, Knowles kardeşlerin daha az tanınanı. Ama onu konuk etmemin nedeni müziği değil, muhteşem zevki... Solange'ın tarzı dalgalı saçları, vücudu saran daracık veya minicik elbiseleri ile Beyonce'nin ihtişamlı tarzın çok farklı, çok daha özgün. Bence stilinin en güçlü yanı çoğu zaman köklerinden gurur duyarak Afro tarzında doğal bıraktığı saçları. Afro saçlarının yanısıra Afrika desenlerini de kıyafetlerin de sıkça kullanarak bütünlük yaratıyor. Gerektiğinde de tek omuzlu dümdüz beyaz bir elbiseyle de sahneyi çalabiliyor. The   lesser known of the Knowles sisters, Solange is a singer too. However, her style is what struck me. She is on a completely different track from Beyonce who is into big ironed out curly waves, glamourous and figure hugging nightgowns and the whole show business thing. I have always had a fascination of the Afro hair style and Solange rocks it so damn proudly. She usually adds other elements of her African-American heritage into her slamming wardrobe as well. Margherita, anyone? (Who's Who Vol. 001)

Kim kimdir köşesinde ilk konuk Missoni imparatorluğunun varisi Margherita Missoni. Margherita İtalyanca  papatya anlamına geliyor.  1983 doğumlu bu güzel bir dönem modellik yaptı ve sanırım halen Missoni'nin marka elçisi.  Kendisini ilk olarak Elle'in 2002 sayısındaki bir editorial'da görmüş ve kırmızı beyazlı kaftanına hayran kalmıştım. Hala o zamanki kadar doğal bir güzelliği var. Haziran ayında çingene konseptinde bir düğün ile Eugene Amos ile evlendi. Margherita'nın rahat tarzında genelde bohem, çingene veya hippi karışımı elementler mutlaka bulunuyor. Saçına taktığı romantik aksesuarlar, aynı kombin içerisinde birden çok desen kullanımı (genetik bir özellik olmalı) ve maksi etekler Margherita'nın adeta imzası.

The first guest of the Who's Who volumes is the heiress to the Missoni fashion house, Margherite Missoni. Margherita means daisy in Italian. Born in 1983 in Italy, M.M. was a model and is the brand ambassador for Missoni. I saw her first in an Elle editorial in 2002 and fell completely in love with her red and white caftan. She still retains that child-like natural beauty. And yet she married racecar driver Eugene Amos in June this year with a gypsy themed wedding in Italy. Her refreshing style always includes a bohemian, gypsy or hippie element to it. Romantic hair accessories, mixing prints (must be a hereditary trait) and maxi length dresses/skirts are her signatures in most of her unique outfits.
