Kim Kardashian on the cover of .....

No, not the tabloids... CR Fashionbook, if you can believe it. Yeah you heard it right, Kim has made it to the cover of Carine Roitfeld's CR Fashionbook. Yes, she has had some quirky looks but I can hardly say that she is a figure in fashion. Ever since, she has been together with Kanye West, she has been trying to become an it-girl and most of the time, she has been failing miserably, especially during her pregnancy. So it came as a surprise that she landed this cover on what is already an iconic publication. This is her second bomb this week, the first being her going blonde.

So here is my theory behind this. Kim made it public so many times that she wants to be on the cover of Vogue and we have heard that Anna Wintour will not even hear of it despite Kanye West's begging. Kim Kardashian was even cut out of this year's Met Gala pictures Vogue.com. Given that there is rumored to be an even greater feud between Anna Wintour and Carine Roitfeld, I think that Kim got lucky due to the Anna Wintour-Kim Kardashian feud. Could Carine have picked Kim just to piss of Anna even more? Did Carine take a huge risk? Is she just joking? Because, the theme of the 3rd issue is Hope, is she saying "there is still hope, even for Kim?"

I'm waiting to see the rest of the cover story to decide how exactly I feel about this.  I have to admit though that she looks quite different with the close-up shot with her grills on. What do you think?

 

This Just In: Carine Roitfeld, Global Fashion Director of Harper's Bazaar

 

After her shocking departure from Vogue Paris, she kept busy and she came out with a book - Irreverent, CR Fashion Book, a collaboration with MAC Cosmetics and now finally this amazing woman is now the Global Fashion Director of Harper's Bazaar. Hats off to her.

 

Vogue Paris'ten olaylı ayrılışından sonra boş durmadı, kitabı İrreverent çıktı, CR Fashion Book'un ilk sayısını yayınladı, MAC Cosmetics ile işbirliğinde bir koleksiyon çıkardı ve şimdi de bu muhteşem kadın Harper's Bazaar'ın Küresel Moda Direktörü oldu. Bravo Carine.

 

 

 

Carine Roitfeld's Le Bal

Smokey eye and thick eyebrows are hallmarks of Carine Roitfeld's personal style and her collaboration with MAC is witness to her provocative and yet minimalist style with a focus on eye make-up in black, brown and anthracite and minimal lip and cheek color. There isn't even a red lipstick in this collection. Carine dedicated her annual Paris Fashion Week ball "Le Bal" to this collection which took place on October 2, 2012 at the historic Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild. Last year's theme was vampires and this year smokey eyes dominated Le Bal once again, resulting in awesomeness. My favorite is Giovanna Battaglia's Kiss/Batman inspired eye make-up. Moda dünyasından favori isimlerimden Carine geri döndü. Vogue Paris'ten 2011'de beklenmedik bir şekilde ayrılan Carine Roitfeld'in altı ayda bir yayımlanacak olan "dergisi" CR Fashion Book 13 Eylül'de çıkıyor. Söylenenlere göre Conde Nast kendisine dolaylı bir şekilde savaş açmış ve fotoğrafçılarına grup dergileri dışında çalışmamalarını hatırlatmış. Yine de şimdiye kadar gördüklerimiz ile çok başarı bir çalışma olacağını gösteriyor. Vogue'dan halen övgüyle bahseden Carine, Vogue ile karşılaştırılmayacak bir işe imza atmak istemiş. Editörden yazısı yerine her bir konuya kısa giriş yazıları yazmış ve duyduğuma göre ansiklopedik boyutlarda olacakmış. Heyecanla bekliyorum...

Carine is back and she is cooler than ever... Her highly anticipated new magazine/book called CR Fashion Book is is due out September 13th and will be published every six months. Following her sudden resignation from Vogue Paris in 2011, it's rumored that Conde Nast has warned and reminded its exclusive photographers to not work outside the group. Nevertheless, the sneak previews so far are really promising. Carine is said to be still praising Vogue and has shot at a product not to be compared with Vogue. She doesn't have an editor's note section and has small intros for all editorials and it's said that the CR Fashion Book will be of monstrous dimensions.
